GLAUCOMA AND ANTERIOR SEGMENT
After completing his medical studies at the University of Montreal, Dr. Amyot has completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital from 1964 to 1968. He subsequently obtained a glaucoma subspecialty in Boston from 1968-1969.
During his long and rich career, Dr. Amyot has been active in teaching, having been assistant clinical professor from 1969 to 1980 and associate professor from 1980 to 2005 at the University of Montreal.
Very involved in the developments of his profession, he has since 1972, performed trabeculectomy. In 1978, he actively participated in the official launch in Montreal of TIMOPTIC® (Timolol). In 1986 he was one of the forerunners of laser iridotomy and TPL in Montreal. He was also a member of the elite group of research on LOW TENSION GLAUCOMA from 1989 to 1995 and a genetic study on glaucoma between 1994 and 2013.
Sensitive to the promotion of visual health, Dr. Amyot was responsible for EOUM from 1989 to 1996 and participated in numerous humanitarian missions.
He practiced from 1969 to 2000 at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, the Lachine Hospital from 2000 to 2013 and in private practice from 2013 to 2015. He practices in the glaucoma clinic of the Institut de l’oeil des Laurentides since 2015 with dedication for his patients.
